In a society where we are required to be efficient, fast, and multitask, it is easy to prioritize specific areas of life to the detriment of others. By not feeling equal in the different dimensions of being, the imbalance takes hold of us.

But what is the balance? If we look at the etymology of the word, balance comes from the Latin “aequilibrium”. This word is the result of two words, “aequus” (equal, equitable) and “libra” (scale). Therefore, it means an equal level of balance “plates”.
These plates can be our different dimensions, for which we are composed. If we do not look at each one with the proper care it deserves, how can we believe their sum is balanced?
Although it is so spoken and of such simple meaning, it is challenging to live it. We tend to encounter extremes rather than constancy. We tend to look only at one part of life, at one layer and not at all. We tend to look at the big things and put aside the details that say so much. Only when we find the synchronicity between the different dimensions can we achieve fullness, just like a bird that can only fly in balance with its two wings.

Physical body
This is the densest body, and it is what we see. It is our clothing in this world, so we must take care of it, accept it, and keep it well. It is vital to have healthy habits such as a careful diet, hydration, exercise, a non-polluting outdoor environment. One of the aspects of taking into account is body consciousness to understand the signals it gives us.
Mental body
This body is related to reasoning and thoughts. It was once regarded as the only intelligence we had, leading to information consumption without criteria. However, it is essential to understand what kind of information we consume because it is processed and stays in our unconscious, leading to specific patterns of thoughts. Who has not happened to spend the day in front of the television watching war news or other similar that directly affect the state of the people who see them? This information lodged in our unconscious can lead to feelings of sadness, injustice, fear, among others.
It is essential to monitor our thoughts and memories so that they are not used to create imbalances. In other words, defeatist, pessimistic or overly idyllic thoughts lead to negative feelings such as sadness, irritation and anger, and frustration.
It is important to identify thoughts patterns that block our intuition and prevent us from being authentic. These thoughts will become like dark clouds that haunt us and prevent us from living fully, so it is so important to take care of our mental health. Getting to know each other and being attentive to the emergence of these patterns of thoughts is the first step in getting them nullified and replaced by thoughts that are in line with our essence. Emotional body
Emotional balance is a topic much talked about these days. The society we live in promotes the omission of certain emotions that often lead to major health problems. There are several examples that we still see today as ” if you cry you’re weak” or “anger and hatred are terrible and so you can’t feel those emotions.”. Of course, some emotions bring us to feel good and other evil but more important than to undo them immediately is to understand why they occurred, to become aware of them. That way, we can work the cause that triggers them instead of just stifling them. They are only reflections of us, and what bothers us or what we need to work on, so more than controlling emotions, it is important to look at them in the eyes and understand. Ignoring is just an easy way to escape. Still, it will cause the problem to accumulate, leading to energetic blockages in our body and subsequent symptoms in our physical body, some of them severe.
When our mental and emotional bodies are not well, we can see that the physical body is tired, without a will, lacks motivation, isolation, and the will to do pleasurable tasks, among other symptoms.
Spiritual body
When we talk about this dimension, we are not talking about religions but about a part that belongs to all of us but is so ignored because it is so misunderstood.
This dimension corresponds to the self, to what we are in reality without society’s moulds. It’s something deep down, and it’s so stuffy from the lack of time to get to know each other. It corresponds to our essence and the purpose we are here, to our intention and inner truth.
Understanding that it exists is an important step to be able to work with it. Many try to connect through meditative practices, prayer, or simply contemplate the beauty before us.
Entering into that sense of connection with our essence is a powerful thing that is so forgotten these days. This feeling becomes constant when we learn to rebalance ourselves daily. It is a work of self-knowledge but fundamental to make life more pleasurable, even in difficult moments.
